What is your business about?

Chapter Clay is a small business committed to making unique, long-lasting and intricate jewellery pieces. We pride ourselves in creating tarnish-free pieces, exclusively using stainless steel for our metal components.

What made you decide to start your business?

I first started experimenting with clay and jewellery in 2020. At that time, I started off with air dry clay due to its accessibility and gentler learning curve. Afterwards, I switched to polymer clay due to its durability and the creative freedom it gave me. I found a great passion in creating unique trinkets – I hope can spark the same joy in my customers as when I create them.

How has your SEM Experience been? 

Being a full-time university student means that we are often unable to commit to business opportunities outside of school due to the number of hours needed, or the high prices of external consignments. With SEM, students can work on their small businesses due to the opportunities given being tailored to students, even those with busy university schedules. What I love the most about the SEM programme is the flexibility of being a student while doing what I love: creating one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces for my customers.
