What is your business about?

We are Define3D a 3D printing companylooking to bring the innovation and marvels of 3D printing to the everyday consumer. We specialise in customer requests and attempt to create the visions of our customers into reality by harnessing the power of 3D printing.

What made you decide to start your business? When did you start?

I was quite turned off by desk jobs and the 9-5 lifestyle that traditional jobs offered and wanted to build something of my own that I was happy to put time and effort in. At the same time I was very interested in 3D printing and the opportunities that this new technology had to offer to the world. Hence after ORD I decided to put both of these interests together and start a 3D printing business.

Why did you choose to take part in SEM?

I saw an opportunity to expand my reach and bring my products to a different market. Hence I felt that SEM will provide a great platform to work with in achieving that goal.

What are some of the challenges you face as a student entrepreneur?

Not having the reach that I would have if I were in an industry with other working adults. As a student the extent of reach and the power of that reach is limited to people similar to myself.

What is one tip that has helped you in juggling your responsibilities as a student and entrepreneur well?

Time management by prioritising what is important to me at any given time has helped me fulfill both my responsibilities as a student as well as an entrepreneur.

What motivates you and keeps you going in your business?

Satisfied customers are one of the main motivating factors. Being able to create what the customer wants and seeing their joy as they receive it has always been my personal benchmark for a project’s success.
